Knit Hat #2 - Ribbed Earflap Hat

Well, I have to first apologize that it has been awhile since I have posted any pictures! Things have been busy here from husband being away quite a bit for work to keeping busy with ladies coming in for sewing lessons. This weekend we as a family were finally able to go away for a long weekend to visit my husband's parents at the cabin they vacation at in Asheville. We had a great time and were able to relax a bit but now back to work!

Here is the second hat that I made for my friend in S.C. who ordered them for a teacher friend of hers (you can see my other hat post to get the scoop on why she wants hats). This hat was fun to make and I think it came out really cute. I used the Jayne Beanie pattern on the Cider Moon website (http://www.cidermoon.com/ - if you have not checked out their free patterns, please go and take a look!). I actually used the Lion Brand Vanna White yarn to make these and I really liked how it felt. It is a nice, medium weight yarn and I really got hooked on the color choices. This was my first time "picking up" stitches to knit the ear flaps. I am thankful for a good knitting book I had on hand that led me through it! It is very easy to do and I cannot wait to try it on something else.

Okay, I have more to post and two more hats to complete so that is all for now!
