A Rainy Day...Perfect Day to Sew!

So I know that it has been awhile since I have posted on my blog and no, I really don't have a good excuse.  The holidays were busy....we made our trip to NY between Christmas and New Year and enjoyed our time with family.  We brought back our niece Natalie with us to NC and she was able to stay a few days which we really enjoyed (although we realized how boring we are and we go to bed earlier than most people her age).  We loved having her here but she had to fly back home last week to get ready for the second semester of her Junior year at Binghamton University (our alma mater).

One of my resolutions for the New Year is to try and post more helpful links and tutorials on my blog.  I took lots of pictures this week and am in the process of writing four new tutorials.  I think I need a more organized approach at writing and so I am working on that too.

Today was just a rainy day here in Matthews.  It has rained almost the entire day which is not very common.  So the girls and I stayed in this morning and worked on vests and blankets for Threads of Love.  If you are not familiar with Charlotte Threads of Love, it is a group of ladies that makes items for the preemie infants in the local NICU's.  It is actually a national organization that has a local chapter.  Today was their monthly meeting in Concord which I was hoping to make but was not able to (another long story).  I normally get packets from the Director and she lets me work on them at home and then drop them off as I get them done.

Here we are today working on little vests and blankets....

Notice how their dolls are "watching them work" they said.

One of the tutorials I am working on is how to sew the blankets.  The group provides all the materials and volunteers sew them together.  If any of my students would like to sew them at home, just let me know and I can provide you with the fabric already cut out.  You provide the love and the thread. =)
