Christmas Presents

Yesterday, my question to my followers on Facebook was "what are you sewing this year for Christmas presents?".  And to get things started, I shared that I have been working on dresses for my daughter's American Girl dolls using this pattern from Modkid.

Well, I finished the first one this morning and here is Kit trying it on and modeling it for us.  Hopefully she can keep it a secret until Christmas.

I was able to use my serger on this project making all the little seams easier to finish.

I would say that this pattern is advanced beginner but not hard once you get the hang of it. There is quite a bit of small bias tape so that always makes things interesting! =)

If you still want to make some doll clothes, there are lots of free tutorials online.  Here is one for a peasant dress that I have made before as well.

Would love to hear more about what everyone is sewing for presents!
