"Do I Need A Serger?"

I often hear this question from students....right after they ask what in fact a serger does.  For those that do not know, a serger is another type of machine that we use in sewing to help us with construction, particularly finishing off seams and working with knits and other specialty fabric.  I own a Janome 1110DX serger that I bought from AAA Sewing Shoppe here in Stallings.  It has been a great machine with very little issues (most were user error).

Recently, www.sewcanshe.com posted on their blog a great explanation on how a serger can be helpful in sewing and can help you decide if you need one.  This BLOG POST is a must read for all sewists!
