Longboat Key 2015

We are back home after taking some time away for a family vacation.  Our girls had some time off from school so that the teachers could attend a convention.  We love to go on vacation in the fall as the crowds are typically lighter and the prices are better to stay at a hotel or condo.

Here are some pictures from our trip to Longboat Key, Florida.  The weather was in the high 80's while we were there but low humidity so it was perfect.

Our condo was on the beach so it was a quick walk down the stairs and to the beach!  They also had a pool which my girls took advantage off, especially my one daughter who doesn't like things in the ocean to touch her.

One of the best things about gulf beaches are the sunsets.  We went out every night to enjoy them.

I can't say that I did anything sewing related while there.  I did try to go to a quilt shop in the Amish community of Pinecraft, near Sarasota, but we decided instead to beat the crowd and go to Yoder's Restaurant for dinner there.  By the time we were done eating, Alma Sue's Quilt Shop was closed.

Now I am back to working on projects and listing more items over on Etsy.  The girls went back to school today and they are not happy about the "cold" weather here in Charlotte right now.  We kept telling them that it is fall and it could be worse as our parents in NY had snow over the weekend.  I don't think it has helped....they want to go back to the warmth of Longboat Key!
